Passport Renewal: Adult

Requirements and documentation to present on the day of your appointment:
  • FBI Judicial Record apostilled by the Department of State.
    – The record will be valid for 180 days.
    – Judicial records must be translated at the Consulate – (cost of U$S 54 per page) or by a Uruguayan public translator.

  • Previous Uruguayan passport (expired or about to expire) and/or cédula de identidad – Uruguayan ID card – (expire or about to expire).

  • We will finger print you, as well as take your picture and signature here at the Consulate.

  • If you lost your passport, you will have to present the police report.

  • Your passport will arrive at the Consulate approximately within a period of four to six weeks beginning the day the process was begun.

  • If you wish that your passport should be mailed to your residence, you will have to bring, on the day of your appointment, an envelope from the United States Postal Service with a tracking number and stamps.

  • Passports can be renewed up to 1 year prior to its expiration date.

  • Cost: $36, we only accept Money orders or cashier checks made out to the Consulate of Uruguay.
