Uruguayan Civil Register Certificate Request (Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate or Death Certificate)

You will only be allowed to request any of these documents if you reside within the Consulate jurisdiction: Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Puerto Rico, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Dominica and the Western Virgin Islands.

Process to obtain a Uruguayan Civil Register Certificate:

Certificate without Apostille (certificate of authentication)

You must send through mail or email to cdmiami@mrree.gub.uy the following documentation:

  • Uruguayan ID copy of requester

  • Civil register certificate copy (in case you have one)

  • Prepaid envelope (USPS PRIORITY preferably) with stamps and your full address. In case you send the documentation through email, you must send a USPS digital prepaid label. You can obtain it by visiting the USPS website.

  • The process has no cost and takes 5-10 working days.

Certificate with Apostille (certificate of authentication)

You must send to cdmiami@mrree.gub.uy the following documentation:

  • Copy of Requester ID

  • Civil Register certificate copy (in case you have one)

  • The approximate cost of the process is USD 18. The payment will be coordinated through email once the Consulate has obtained the detailed documentation.

  • The process takes 4-8 weeks.
