Passport Renewal: Minor

Requirements and documentation to present on the day of your appointment:
  • Previous Uruguayan passport (valid or expired) and/or cédula de identidad – Uruguayan ID card – (valid or expired). (If they do not have any document, we issue an operative passport).

  • Passports can be renewed up to 1 year prior to its expiration date.

  • If you lost your passport or was stolen, you will have to present the police report.

  • We will finger print you, as well as take your picture and signature here at the Consulate.

  • The minor will have to be present on the day of the appointment with a valid ID.
  • Both parents will also have to be present on the day of the appointment with a valid ID. If for whatever reason, one of the parents cannot be present on the appointed day they will have to obtain a Minor’s Permit

  • The child’s birth certificate must be presented to confirm affiliation with no more of 30 days of issued. if you don’t have it you have to request 20 days in advance by e-mail at cdmiami@mrree.gub.uy

  • Cost: $36, we only accept Money orders or cashier checks made out to the Consulate of Uruguay.

  • Your passport will arrive at the Consulate approximately within a period of four to six weeks beginning the day the process was begun.

  • If you wish that your passport should be mailed to your residence, you will have to bring, on the day of your appointment, an envelope from the United States Postal Service with a tracking number and stamps.
