Proof of Life
Retirees or pensioners residing outside Uruguay must provide proof of life periodically to the appropriate Consulate.
In Person
You will have to make an appointment with the Consulate, via email cdnuevayork@mrree.gub.uy
The day of the appointment, you will have to present: Uruguayan passport or cédula de identidad (Uruguayan ID card)
This procedure has no cost.
Distance
Those who live too far away from the Consulate or for health reasons cannot appear before the Consulate will have to:
Mail to the Consulate the following documents:
- Ficha Informativa de Existencia
- Certificado Existencia Notario signed before a Notary Public
- A copy of your valid document (passport or Uruguayan ID card). In the case your Uruguayan documents are both expired, send a copy of a valid picture ID and a copy of the expired Uruguayan document.
In the case of the retiree or pensioner being sick, request a proof issued by the doctor in-charge.
For Proof of Life for Caja Militar, Policial, Bancaria and Profesional, please send together with the application form, prepaid envelope with your information and full mailing address, in order for the documet to be sent to your address.
