Uruguayan ID Card (Cédula de Identidad): Adult Renewal

Uruguayan ID Card (cédula de identidad) can only be renewed for natural and national Uruguayan citizens, in the cases of it being expired or lost.

Requirements and documentation to present on the day of your appointment:
  • Uruguayan ID card (expired or about to expire).

  • We will finger print you, as well as take your picture and signature here at the Consulate.

  • Cost: $18, we only accept Money orders or cashier checks made out to the Consulate of Uruguay.

  • If you wish that your Uruguayan ID card should be mailed to your residence, you will have to bring, on the day of your appointment, an envelope from the United States Postal Service with a tracking number and stamps.

  • The Uruguayan ID card will be received by this Consular Office in an approximate period of four to six weeks beginning on the day that the passport was processed.
