    People authorized to enter Uruguay

    Entry regime for Uruguayan citizens and foreign nationals

    Vaccinated Uruguayan citizens and foreign nationals

    Requirements:

    • Vaccination: they must have received the single dose or the two doses against the SARS-CoV-2 virus (depending on the type of vaccine administered) approved by their country of origin. They must provide proof of vaccination by means of a certificate issued by the health authority of their country of origin.

    • Covid-19 test to enter Uruguay: not required.

    • Post admission Covid-19 test: not required.

    • Health insurance: foreign passengers must have health coverage in Uruguay.

    Uruguayan citizens and foreign nationals who have had COVID-19 within the last 90 (ninety) days prior to boarding or arrival in Uruguay

    Requirements:

    • Proof of illness: submit the positive test result of the PCR-RT molecular biology technique or antigen detection test, carried out between a maximum of 90 (ninety) days and up to 10 (ten) days prior to boarding or arrival in the country. It must be attached to the Health Affidavit and presented to the company in which you travel prior to the check in.

    • Covid-19 test to enter Uruguay: not required.

    • Post admission Covid-19 test: not required.

    • Health insurance: foreign passengers must have health coverage in Uruguay.

    All other Uruguayan citizens and foreign nationals

    Requirements:

    • Covid-19 test to enter Uruguay: travelers over 6 years of age must present a negative result of the SARS CoV-2 virus detection test (by PCR-RT or antigen test), performed no more than 72 hours before the start of the trip. In the event that entry into the country is through commercial passenger transportation, the accreditation of the negative test must be carried out prior to boarding with the transport company.

    • Post admission Covid-19 test: not required.

    • Health insurance: foreign passengers must have health coverage in Uruguay.

    Measures after entering the country

    • Properly use a face mask (covering the mouth, nose and chin), during contact situations, when within two meters from other people.

    • Foreign passengers must have health coverage in Uruguay.

    • Comply with the contagion prevention measures determined by the health authority.
